Chekesha C. Kidd
President, Aetna Student Health
As President of Aetna Student Health (ASH), Chekesha Kidd is focused capitalizing on Company’s market expertise, strong relationships, data analytics and operational excellence to deliver a diversified, best in class portfolio of products and services to address the evolving needs of student health decision-makers.
Previously, Chekesha served as the Chief of Staff and Head of Business Development for the Local Employers and Consumers Segment with Aetna, Inc. where she was responsible for the development and execution of the segment’s M&A and alliance strategy as well as the creation and implementation of its governance structure. Prior to joining Aetna, Chekesha was a financial professional on Wall Street responsible for structuring and executing corporate advisory transactions and managing the deal process for M&A, debt and equity transactions totaling over $5.0 billion in transaction value. She contributed to deals totaling over $200 million in firm revenue over an eight year horizon. She also has diverse health administration experience working in clinical research, state policy and federal lobbying efforts over the course of her nearly 20 year career.
Chekesha earned a MBA in finance/ corporate strategy and a Master’s of Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan. She is also a magna cum laude graduate of Florida A&M University where she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Management with a double minor in environmental and pharmaceutical sciences.
Philip Chambers
Vice President, Account Management
As Vice President of Account Management, Phil leads Aetna Student Health's national account management team servicing the more than 200 customers across our block. Phil joined Aetna Student Health in 2004 and has worked closely with customers developing solutions to meet the unique needs of each campus. Prior to joining Aetna Student Health, Phil worked for a local wellness and health promotion company in leadership roles in both sales and account management. Phil earned his Bachelor degree from the University of Maine and his MBA from the University of Massachusetts.
Don Harrington
Vice President, Operations
Don is responsible for claims administration, customer service, enrollment,
managed care and claims auditing, which encompasses more than 200 employees
on both East and West Coasts. Don first joined Aetna Student Health in 1997
and served as Director of Operations and Performance Measurement and Process
Improvement. Prior to joining the Aetna Student Health, Don spent nine years at
John Hancock Financial Services in various operational capacities. His responsibilities
included acting as the organizational and process design consultant. As
Treasurer of the Hancock Association Services Group, which was a subsidiary
of John Hancock, he focused on serving the association and the affinity
insurance market. Don is a graduate of Boston College.
Maryellen Pease
Vice President, Finance
Maryellen joined Aetna Student Health in 1992 after earning her Juris Doctorate
from Suffolk University Law School. In addition to being a member of the
Massachusetts Bar, Maryellen is a Certified Public Accountant. She joined
Aetna Student Health after having served in the Audit Division of Arthur Andersen, LLC.
She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Boston College.
Maryellen is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public
Accountants and the Massachusetts Bar Association.
