Meet the Senior Management Team
Katharine (Kate) N. Begley
President, Aetna Student Health
As President of Aetna Student Health, Kate strives to create a working environment where the team is empowered to develop innovative solutions to the health and financial issues facing our schools, their health centers and the students they serve. Drawing from over 22 years of experience managing and growing numerous businesses across the country for Aetna, Kate has demonstrated that responding with customized solutions to our customers’ clinical, financial and administrative needs is a winning proposition.
Among the most rewarding projects Kate has had the pleasure of working on at Aetna are: developing a concrete strategy to meet the multifaceted health and wellness needs of underserved and culturally diverse communities in New York City; assisting larger, fully insured customers in managing their health care costs by developing robust online reporting tools; and helping keep quality coverage affordable for small employers and their employees by making available a tax-advantaged, consumer-directed health care strategy.
Today, Kate is committed to the promotion of sensible healthcare reform that addresses the problem of the uninsured and helps keep young adults healthy and financially stable. She is dedicated to building meaningful partnerships with schools to accomplish one ultimate goal: Enable students to achieve optimal health and academic performance with the help of on-campus health and wellness programs and an affordable, high quality student health plan.
