Already have health insurance? If you’re covered under another qualifying plan—like one from a parent, spouse, or employer—you can waive the student health plan. To waive coverage, you’ll need your school-issued student ID number.

Eligibility and requirements
MICA requires all F-1 and J-1 undergraduate and graduate international students to enroll in the school’s health insurance policy. Students who are permanent residents or covered by a U.S. employer-based plan may be exempt.
Domestic undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in at least 9 credits are eligible to purchase the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP).
